Recently we have had a couple of inquiries on the SONY splash resistant stereo. Seems a few went to Best Buy and looked into the stereos, and discovered that the Best Buy model is white (CDXHS70MW), runs around $300 and has no iPod connection. You can us a small cable jack (green ends) on the rear of that unit for MP3/digital music input. Though the USB connection is not on all of the SONY models. The unit at Best Buy is again White in color. The audio input jack is located on the rear of the Best Buy unit. You can buy the Sony system we offer on line and the head unit (Sony CDX-H910UI ) alone revolves around $350 to $400 with the USB port connection. The stereo speakers add more, and then dont forget to acquire a flexible antenna for the receiver. From there it is all just work. The remote is available at Best Buy perhaps easiest. These generally run around $150 (Sonys RM-X55M/Q2) and the install is plug and play. You will have to get a USB connection cable for iPod/iPhone and the audio cable should be left open and exposed if you plan on using that method. The iPod or iPhone cradle we have in stock and we are not sure of its availability elsewhere. We are sure it is out there, though a hard part to find. We do sell complete systems based on availability. Production needs come first and it is tough to keep ahead on product in this new economy with JIT inventory the suppliers are using. (Just In Time) Also our pricing will not be as comeptitive as those big box retailers and the internet electronics warehouses. Is the Sony CDX-H910UI the unit that is installed with the 4 speaker system with remote? Thanks,Jay
I believe thats the one. Its about $350. I just got the cdx-m60ui. I couldnt justify the cash but its awsome.
That would be the one. BCB
I may be a bit different and perhaps missing something, but just could never see needing or wanting a radio in my boat. Just seems like it would ruin the total serenity and at times, the almost sacredness of fishing.
VERY TRUE panteraIV, however…..there are a couple of tournaments here in the south that have hourly weigh-ins and they broadcast results on a local radio station. That way you know if you have a fish large enough to get in the money for that hour and need to get to the weigh-in. Also, its not a bad thing to check on the weather from time to time. Otherwise, Id say a radio/CD player would just be something for fun while cruisin the lake or skiing and having fun.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
The Sony Sony CDX-H910UI can be bought for less than $350.http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-S…885e41e19#ht_3328wt_1167
The stereo I love.I put an accessory jack into the back of mine- I can play pandora from my phone- get the songs you want!Is your Tournament director too quiet to be heard during a big tourney takeoff? Well give him a walkie talkie and transmit him through your boat so everyone can hear!Running a tournament yourself? Hook a mic to the boat!Gettin to be 90 minutes to weigh in and your concentration is waning some? Kick on some music!Launch your boat well before takeoff and just hanging out? Turn your favorite stuff on and get everything set.Got a coangler that is annoying? Turn the stereo on and itll blast at him and you cant hear him anymore!Love my stereo!C.O.D. Jr. III
