Hey guys, Ill be in Nashville visiting family in mid to late October and would like to get out and fish a little bit while Im there. If possible, Id like to get into some smallmouth. Ive never really fished any of the lakes in the area so dont know much about which ones are good/bad. Any suggestions on lakes or guides would be greatly appreciated. Right now, Im leaning toward making the drive down to Pickwick, but dont know much about any of the guides on the lake. Thanks!

Contact Steve at Riverside Marine and ask him for a suggestion. Roger and Gary also hang down there and guide.

JDC,Cant help much with guides on Priest, or around Nashville, but if you want to make the drive to Pickwick or Wilson, shoot me an email.[url=mailto:mdwhitten@comcast.net]mdwhitten@comcast.net[/url]Jimmy Mason, Steve Hacker, Roger Stegall, Gary Harlan are all very viable options.I would get on it, as all of these guys are very good, and will stay booked up in the fall months.Mike Whitten

If you are fishing for SM fish the Cumberland River from downtown Nashville to the Old Hickory dam. As it stands right now my schedule is SLAMMED in October. If you will make a post when you are ready to be there Ill check my schedule again. Id love nothing more than a reason to get down there

JDC, if you hold out till the end of Oct. You will be just about on time for some good action on Dale Hollow (smallmouth capital of the world). It is about an hour and a half drive from Nashville. Google up smalljaw.com. On the left side of the page is the guides. There is a guy on there named Keith Palimero. He will put you on some fish. The guys Mike listed at Pickwick are excellent as well. Just giving you a another option. I fish Dale Hollow a lot and I cannot wait till Nov. gets here. Those smallies start feeding up for winter with a vengeance. Good Luck. You cant beat the thrill of battling a big small mouth.

JDC – If you want to stay close to home and fish Percy Priest you need to contact Jeremy Ethridge for those brownies. He is the best stick at Percy Priest for chasen those brownies and not to bad at KY Lake either ( winner of the Stren/Everstart this past year up there and won the wknder series a month ago out of Paris,TN ) . WORK NUMBER : 615-335-1028 He works for Mike Hollingshead ,i believe BCB knows Mike ( Concrete Man ). Jeremy is a great guy and you will have alot of fun and its close to the hotel/motel.
