This is on a 2004 Pantera Classic. My bilge pump stopped working so I swapped out the cartridge, but it still didnt work. I (well actually my buddy who has more electrical experience than me) then checked power at the quick disconnects and wasnt getting any power there.I see the terminal block on the transom. Is that what I need to check for a loose wire? Is there a diagram anywhere of what is connected to what on that thing or do I just need to check them all? How do I check them (i.e., what do I put the testers on?) As I understand from using the search function, Bass Cat does not use fuses and there is just the breaker on the battery. I could not find any other place anywhere to check….. How are the individual items protected? I am woefully ignorant of electrical things…Also, I have had an issue for awhile now with my automatic bilge system not working and when down there in the bilge I saw four “drops” for lack of a better word coming from it:1. To the bilge pump2. & 3. To he two pumps that are mounted behind the livewells4. (Located between the bilge drop and the two behind the livewell drops was a connection that wasnt connected to anything.I then found my automatic bilge pump float switch that was sitting below the livewells. It only had one wire on it and it wast connected to anything. Should it be connected to that fourth drop? Is that how Bass Cat does it? I see that I need a new float switch and I will get one installed, but sure was curious on how I should get it wired. If all I have to do is get it plugged in to the harness that would make it very easy. Also, all other pumps works perfectly, and the A10 touch pad lights up as it should for all functions (including the bilge)…Oh and one last question: Where on Earth do you find the little push in connectors that Bass Cat uses? I went to an Auto Zone and Lowes and could not find any…. Thanks in advance! I wont go boating without a working bilge pump system so I need to get this fixed this week so I can get back on the water.
The bilge pump circuit in the ATen touch assembly is most likely end of life. We feel it is broken and replacement or a second switch are your options. The auto on an ATen does not power like normal auto switches, it senses the connection when activated and e dash turns on the bilge. Not all Pantera Classic models have the Auto function as it was an option on some. The bullets are made by Molex and are a proprietary Mercury part, any Mercury dealership can assist you and Home Depot or Lowes should have a suitable option that is close though not sealed. ITC Molex also has an almost identical part they offer which is sealed, it is not as sealed as Mercurys bullet.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on January 9th, 2017, 12:44 pm, edited 1 time in total.
First, THANK YOU for the quick response. Got to love it when someone at Bass Cat replies at 7 AM on a Monday when you post your question at 6 AM.So are you saying I need to get a whole new A10 panel (I hope not because it show them being out of stock)? If not, what do you think I need to check and potentially replace? On the auto bilge, you would think that the auto option was selected due to them putting a float switch in the boat (why else would they have put it in there)? What could the unused wiring harness drop be if it was not hooked up to the float switch? How would I hook up a float switch if it doesnt plug in to that unused drop? Appreciate the help!
Following up to say that I talked with Richard in the service department and it looks like the A10 dash has gone bad and I will need to get a new one. We checked ground issues and the power coming out of the back of the dash. However, I did want to second what others on this board have already said and that is that Richard is an amazing resource and was very helpful when I called him to discuss my issue. Sure my bilge pump still doesnt work, but it will and I feel like I know my boat a little bit better after talking to Richard.Bass Cat, the absolute best customer service ever!
2005 Pantera Classic and recently am having bilge pump issues. It has worked fine all summer. When I went to the barn today I noticed that the manual bilge light on the control panel was on. Possibly it got left on. Not sure if that tripped a breaker or caused some other issue. Everything else on the control panel works normally
Bilge pump won’t turn on in manual or automatic mode. I checked the ground in the bilge connector and appears to be fine. If I run a wire from positive battery terminal to the positive lead on the bilge (with bilge ground wire hooked up normally) it seems to run fine.
I’m getting zero power at the positive wire where the bilge plugs in. I checked with voltmeter as well as 12v tester with light. Nothing for power when the switch is on manual.
I am going to wire up a temp switched wire from the pos battery terminal to the bilge. But would really like to get it working from the panel. Is there a breaker or fuse somewhere that I am missing?
If I wanted to wire up the auto bilge from the battery do you have any suggestions on how to do that?
Thanks!
Here’s an option:
You can reroute one of the Accessory switches to Auto wires, leading to the float switch, out of the ATen dash assembly. That will gives power to the float switch and you do need to connect the pumps to the outgoing wire on the float switch. The Float Switch, It just opens the circuit to the opposing wire allowing power to that wire, which would feed power to the pumps.
