I have about a 700 credit score and am thinking about buying a used Cat. What is a decent rate for financing a boat these days? Is there a age limit on a boat for financing? Figured this would be a good place to find out. Thanks in advance Tyler
best ive found is 8.5%
My credit union is 5% minimum for boats and RVs. I have mine for 4.25% and I owe much less than I can dump it quickly for – just in case. I recommend setting this as a goal if you are financing your first boat or anything. Owe less than it is worth at a wholesale price!

I just checked my credit union and they are at 6.39% for 120mo and 5.41% for 60. That is best case scenario and from what they told me it takes 720 to get that rate. My last one they even discounted 1/4 point off what they were advertising as being best if I directed payed. Good luck but credit unions are normally much cheaper than banks and Roll Tide fans Judd Lasiter

I have a 692 credit rating. Am looking to finance about 30,000. How much will be required to put down? Do you finance boats that are brought in from private parties? Thanks Tyler
Dont go to a boat dealership just for financing! To many middlemen getting their cut. If they can set up your financing, you could just as easy get the same (most likely better) deal directly from the bank. (No offense Greene Boats! Just stating facts). Since you know your credit rating, it just takes a couple quick calls to the local bank loan departments to get the answers you are looking for.
We encourage all customers to find the best rates and to shop around. Sometimes we offer better rates, sometimes we dont… We want our customers to have the best rates and terms to fit their budget. The local banks will often provide better interest rates than some of the banks we deal with day to day. The advantage to financing through a dealership when you purchase a boat is that often we can still get good rates but at longer terms – making the monthly payments lower. In other words, local banks wont finance as long as many larger banks. Again, it depends on the customers needs. If a customer can make higher monthly payments and pay the boat down quicker, that is the best scenario. If a customer needs lower payments to get a boat, we can extend the terms but strive to protect the customer from negative equity. I hope this helps.Andy Greene Greene Boat & Motor 828-286-2290 http://www.greeneboats.com
