Hydraulic JPs- necessary?

I dont fish much skinny water, so take off advantages are a wash. As far as performance, is the JP position a “set it and forget it” thing for the most part on a BassCat, or do you think you use it constantly due to variables on the water? Thanks for your input- determining whether it is worth the money. Also, is there a choice of hydraulic JP from the factory- if I do get one, I want a JP indicator dial on the dash.

Set and forget it for most. Unless you really vary in your gear selection and partner weight there is no gain. And if there is you can lower it 1/4″ to 1/8″ and gain the same benefit. You just might run 1 MPH slower always without that load. We do not suggest a hydraulic plate for most applications. Some tidal water and fishing flat (shallow) water in Florida. All BCB mounted units have gauges in either Bobs or Detwiler.

Thanks, that confirms my dealers opinion- now I can cross that off my list. BTW, Andy Greene has made this whole process a treat- he is a wealth of knowledge and his time on the water shows. What an awesome experience!
