Topic: Trailer Hub Help Needed…bad

I have an 05 puma with a tandem axle trailer. Not real familiar with boat trailers and this is probably a stupid question. I noticed they appear to have bearing buddies however they have a blue plastic housing i though bearing buddies were steel.? Recently went on a trip and prior added a few squirts of grease and noticed the blue piston move outward and some grease exit around the edges of the blue housing. Came back and noticed both rear wheels around the lug nuts really warm/hot. How do I know if these are bad or full as I was under the imprssion with bearing buddies grease did not exit? 2) How do I know if they are bad? 3) How do you remove the spare hub attached to the trailer I assume I have to take out the plastic houseing/zert fitting how can this be done without damaging it.? All help greatly appreciated. Thanks

You remove the bearing buddy cap and pull the center spindle nut. Slide the hub off and place it on the spindle. You will have to slide the disc brake caliper off and tie it up or remove it to use th backup hub. BCB does not suggest squirting grease in the hubs. They don suggest you ever do anything other than service them every three to five seasons, depending on use.
