These caps close up pretty tight . — Are you sure it wasnt just slosh from the vents ?? — In either case , if you keep it above water you should be fine . — Problems can occur when you misjudge the waves and turn your boat into a submarine . ( Which really sucks by the way !! ) — If you havent done it yet , dont worry , you will eventually . — Even then , the water intrusion is minimal enough that the fuel water separator will easily take care of it . — Hoss
