I have bought my first Basscat. It is a 04 Cougar with tandem axle trailer. It still has what the seller told me is the original tires (Firestone Indy 500) I am wanting to replace these, can I buy any tire in the same size (P215 70 R15 975) ?I noticed in another thread below BCB say they have moved to a Mastercraft Avenger and when I pulled this up they show to be a passenger car tire. Does it matter?Thanks in advance

doesnt matter in my opinion. a tire salesman will tell you it will and try to persuade you to buy a Goodyear Marathon or Carlisle or some other BS trailer tire.

Went through the same thing, looked at a number of options..ended up with the Maxxis in D rating..205 75r15..so far so good…

With a utility, work, or cargo type trailer i think it matters. With a bass boat trailer you know the load and it is minimal and well within specs for standard load passenger car tires. Get what you want that looks and rides good, imho. The Mastercraft is a Cooper mfg. tire, and is what im running. Hell, when i started runnin a Cat the only place i could get replacement tires was K-Mart ! Turbo -Tech baby !!! And they did good !

Turbo Tech was a General Tire and Rubber tire and they did really well. REALLY well!

Have been using the Mastercraft Avenger. I am on my second set and have had no problems. I have an 02 with tandem axles and estimate that I have over 100,000 miles on trailer. It came with Firestone 500 and I switched to Mastercraft around 2006 and then replaced those in 2011.
