Richard L. “Rich” Hively, 59, of 3101 Schildt Lane, Quincy, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 12, 2010) in Quincy. Born Jan. 19, 1951, in Quincy, Rich was a son of Marion and Grace Bradney Hively. He married Dianne Grawe on June 5, 1970, in Quincy. She survives. Rich was a member of The Crossing. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fishermens Association and the Midwest Pleasure Boating Association. Rich enjoyed the outdoors and taking care of his yard and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. —————————————————————————————————His boat was found on the upper side of Lock and Dam 21, in gear and out of fuel. The body was found three days later on the backside of 21 when they opened the gate it surfaced. No lifejacket. Speculation is that he was hit in the head by a chinese carp. Official cause of death was drowning.
