Ive almost decided to order a new BassCat and need some feedback. Ive never purchased a new boat and am overwhelmed by how stressful it is. Trying to pick a motor, electronics, paint, etc has driven me nuts. Thankfully, I have an awesome, patient dealer that has helped me out along the way! At this point, I have it all worked out except for the colors and was wondering if my “soon to be” BassCat brothers and sisters could provide some feedback. The goal is to select a color package with good resale that matches my truck. Any suggestions? BCB… What color packages are the most popular? Will any new colors be available for 2010? Thanks in advance!
If that is the truck you will be pulling with, I would go with a black boot and white hull… Or a white hull and white boot, either way it would match the truck pretty good…Than any color you want past that would match the truck…But get what ever makes YOU happy that is the most important thing!!! You have already won by picking a BassCat!!! Welcome to the BassCat “Family”….. Cant wait to see some pictures of your cat when you get it…Good luck in your selection…. Steve
VSBassCat Thanks for the suggestions! I just took a look at your album and I love your BassCat! Ive been trying to decide on a new boat for about 1 year and have researched them all (Ranger, Stratos, Triton, etc). I currently own an older Stratos and I must say that, for me, BassCat is the only way to go (even though I havent driven one). These boards really do build a lot of excitement for those of us looking to buy new BassCat boats. Thanks, again!
Dude…you have a white truck. ANYTHING goes with white or black. Tough choice on colors. That was the toughest part about getting a new boat was picking colors every single year. Couple of pieces of advice…get Ash carpet, it is a lot easier to keep than any other color. I came to the conclusion that I like the darker seats. The light ones look nice but to much work keeping them perfect. Solid colors you can fix yourself but arent as blingy (I know I made that word up) and silver is the ultimate bling and hides everything with the reds/blues closer and blacks being the worst. Most importantly even if you have to copy someone elses boat get one you will be happy with. There are a lot of places to go and look at color combos. Owners Gallery here, Owners Gallery on the BBC, BBC for sale board, Impact fishing for sale and past for sale boards. There are a ton of combos in those mentioned. Easy part is done and that was picking the best boat now the hard part starts with all the stuff to put on it. Judd Lasiter PS – hard to beat that black Merc hangin off the back
White boat and a black boot would look good behind that dodge. Behind my silver Dodge.
Very few changes for 2010. We made several last year in 09, and there are only limited changes in 2010. There are not any new colors either, and we have almost too many now. Confusing it can be! The white is a fleet white on Dodges, and resembles a Chevrolet white which is pure white and no pigments other than white Titanium. That is true for the gel coat we use also, pure white. Depending on engine choice on what the flake color would be. With a white body, the Pewter, Slate, Charcoal, Remington Steel, Malibu Silver, Gunsmoke and other colors all go well for a soft boat with White. The trim color can be subtle or striking as in a Red Black Trim. That is a matter of personal preference. Plus some like a varied console and fender color in perhaps a Starlight Blue or Raspberry to match another item. Your Boot color could be none, (White) or Black and some like a more neutral color in the boot that match their flake color. The choices are really wide and we hope this helps you.
I would like to help………but Im not very good at matching stuff…………..
Well, Ive decided that the problem is that I cant find a BassCat that doesnt look good! These boats are just so perfect… Judd (basschaser) Thanks for your advice on carpet, seats and blingy colors. This type of information is very helpful and is much appreciated! And….I agree, you cant beat the black Merc! tae73 Your boat rocks … I love the colors and how awesome the boat looks behind your truck. I may want to use your colors on my boat. Please let me know if that would be cool with you. Im usually pretty creative but Ive over analyzed the colors to the point of needing advice from others. BCB Thanks for your reply and for not adding more colors to confuse me even further (hehe). I will use the information that you provided to help narrow things down. This information helps alot! adchunts I can relate. My last rig was a red Silverado pulling a green Stratos. It always looked like Santa was coming to town when I headed to the lake! BassCats canary yellow is a great color and it looks good behind your truck. The trailer color pulls the truck and boat colors together. Thanks again, everyone!Last edited by wolfrvr on June 24th, 2009, 11:09 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I just had this same issue a couple of weeks ago before I completed my order. Just remember, whatever you end up with at end state, it is a nice feeling to have at this point in time.
If you havent already I would mess around with the Design a Boat section on the home page. Lots of combinations. Kind of interesting.
SAMRUSH Those colors are nice! They look really good on your boat! The Boat Designer doesnt do the yellow justice … it looks a lot better on the boat. Thanks again! RangerDoug I used your color suggestions in the Boat Designer and they look really good. I hadnt really considered red until now. Thanks! dblpasabre The coral is an awesome color and looks great on your boat. Thanks for emailing me photos of your boat! weeman and Curt Wilke I like the colors on both of your boats. I was born on the 4th of July and have considered a red, white and blue. Thanks for posting pics of your boats to give me a better idea of how it would look. Ive come to the conclusion that you really cant go wrong with any of the BassCat colors. Every boat I have seen looks great! Photos really help because Ive seen very few BassCat boats up close. Keep them coming. Thanks!
Is that of a boat (Sabre FTD)that was in Greene Boat & Motor inventory a few months back. According to the listing, this was a color chosen by Rick. Boot: Black Hull: White Hull Insert: Slate Pins: Blue Black Cap: Slate Cap Insert: White Trailer Fenders: Slate This was a very sharp, clean color combo. The slate and blue black went together very well. Good Luck
ALL OF THE CATS LOOK GOOD ! No matter what you pull them with, it does look good when you match though. But just pulling a CAT is an honar! By the way how do I bring some of my white on white pics from my profile ?
EARP64…Nice Cat! I still havent seen an ugly cat which makes it even more difficult to decide on colors. Youll need the url of the photo in order to add it to your post. If your using Internet Explorer, then the steps below should work for you. If you are using the Google Chrome web browser, then youll need to add the html. 1) Open your album and navigate to the photo you want to post but dont open it. 2) Right-click and select Open in New Window. 3) Once the window opens, copy the url from address bar. 4) Use the “Insert Photo” button when making a new post to add the url for the photo. It should turn out something like this… EARP64 Bass Cat
