When I pulled off the Trophy from 250 Merc Pro XS, to install my new Fury, I noticed the plastic hub that came with the Fury would not fit onto the shaft?? I used the one that was on the shaft already which is made from sort of metal, not sure, brass? I guess that I need to contact the prop shop and see if they have this animal for back up purposes? Any comments? Thanks Keith

You dont need a back up. You tear it up and youve got more problems than a hub.

Phil, Where do I get the correct size hub, spacer whatever they call that plastic piece that slider over the output shaft in order for another prop to fit snug? Thanks Keith

All Mercury props will fit that metal hub. You do not use the plastic hub which came with your prop. The plastic hub, washers, etc. that are in that box fit non Pro XS engines. All you need to do is place that metal hub on to the shaft and then install prop. Install the washers that were used on the other prop and tighten the nut. You should be ready to go then.

The metal hubs are very dependable, though you can loose the shim spacers. Otherwise Phil is right.

Go to your Merc dealer and get one on order. Not cheap though. I, like you, will always have a spare in the boat with me. Interesting that there is an opinion that you dont need a spare. I think it is the same concept as the other style.
