I am going to install a 10 ft talon on my puma ftd with 250 pro xs. Curious how it will efffect hole shot and top end speed. Also, what is the effective depth the talon will really hold the boat in say a 15 knot wind, thanks for any info

Anyone have a thought on this. 8 ft talon maybe. I know there are bass cats with them I have seen them

I have been in a Puma and an Eyra, both with 250s, that had Talons on them, and both had slow hole shots. If you do a search on the forum, you will find a few discussion around this topic, and people have been able to compensate by removing the plugs in their props, and in some cases drilling additional venting holes to improve their hole shots.

i have 2 12 talons and it did slow my holeshot down a little, have thought about drilling the extra holes but havent done it yet because its still a fastboat and it doesnt bother me that bad yet…

oh and my 12 hold in 11.5 feet of water with a good wind….

Thanks just going with a single and my boat has great hole shot with a 26 fury all plugs out.

I Have a 12 foot Talon and am running a 26 Fury with 3 extra holes drilled. 2 Guys full tourney load and full wells no issue at all. I love the thing.

so holes drilled is the answer to this tonkacat? is there a blue print somewhere so i can take it to my prop guy. i dont want to mess up an expensive prop?

I looks at the photos of the props that I saw with the holes drilled in them and I didnt want to waste time shipping it so I just bent and bought some bits and some oil and started drilling. Â Its not real easy but I did it. Â I started small and went bigger. Â I think its perfect now. Â Have a bunch of bits. Â Go slow.Â [url=http:]http:[/url]
