Awhile back you had a post about your throttle being stuck in forward. What did you do to fix it? A friend of mine has a PII with a 200 Proxs. Same problem. Thanks Martin

Theres only a couple of things that can be causing your problem. 1. Cable is in a bind 2. Cable has come loose at the engine. It can be seen by taking the hood off and is located on the passenger side. 3. Cable is broke.

Mine turned out to be a stupid mistake I wasnt going to say that, but I guess I will. After I bought this boat I had a hot foot installed with a new accelerator cable and the original accelerator cable was left in the boat still attached to Merc forward/reverse lever. Over time that extra cable got stuck under the gas tank and when it went into forward this time, the end got stuck under the gas tank and wouldnt let the forward /reverse lever come back. The original cable end still goes out like normal when you leave it this way. After the mechanic found it he took the cable out from under the tank and zip tied it to the top so it doesnt happen again. When I sell a boat it seems like it is 50/50 on how people like the hot foot or not. So if they dont all they have to do is have it hooked back up and take the hot foot out. This time I forgot to have them wire it up out of the way or they just forgot to (3yrs ago). So if he has had this done he my want to check that out??

Thanks for the reply Frenchcat.. Now this guy has added more. When the motor is in forward, when the engine is running, he cant shift into neutral. But when he turns the engine off, he can shift to neutral. Doesnt do this all the time….personally sounds like he needs a Merc mechanic to look at it. Its a new Cat with a new motor and should be covered under warranty. problem is our Merc mechanics out here leave something to be desired. If anyone has any ideas??? Martin
