Johnson Outdoors, the owners of Humminbird, announced last week that they just bought GeoNav from Navionics. GeoNav is the market leader in GPS units and chartplotters in Europe, but Navionics always kept them away from the American market so as not to compete with Lowrance and such that use Navionics maps and cards. So if they do as they should, Humminbird may soon overhaul and upgrade their GPS functionality in the next few years and give Lowrance a good thrashing.
