Topic: Missing center caps and grease on the wheels

I got back this evening from Ouachita and put the boat in the shop, and thats when I noticed on the rear braking axle both center caps for the wheels were gone, and there was grease all over the wheels and tires. they were both on at the ramp because I always check the tires before towing. My rig is an 08 puma that is less than two years old. This is getting frustrating! My back-up light is out, and one led light is burned out. This is about to get expensive if I have to replace all every year. Any suggestions from BCB as to why the caps came off and the grease on the wheels. Are the center caps and seals available from BCB.

Is the boat currently at a Bass Cat dealership for repair? If so, they (the dealer) should look into the problem for you. If the boat is not a Bass Cat dealership then you should consider taking it to H2O Sportz (Bass Cat dealer) in Little Rock. Then if that doesnt work, call Bass Cat and ask for Scott in Service. The latter two will get your problems solved. Good luck!

Its going back to H2O Sportz in the morning. Thats where I bought it from. Is any of this still under warranty???

You betcha! Dont try to handle all of this on your own, and Larry M will take care of you. If he gets the order in by noon, he should be able to have a rush on the parts by Thursday. The caps are rear mounted and it sounds like something might have happened as they are inserted into the wheel before the wheel is mounted. the center bearing buddies are seldom an issue and definitely not in symmetry on different sides on the same trip. One side at a time, we say sure, two sides on the same trip, something is up! It could be that the brake coupler locked up and overheated the calipers and disc, which blew the grease caps and they took out the hub. It is not hub related, though the hubs could be a casualty of the coupler.

I would like to thank Rick for his call to Larry at H2O sportz, and to larry and the guys at H2O. Larry got right on the trailer problem and got everytging fixed in time for the tournament on Dardenelle. I guess my frustration was a lingering thought about problems I had with a different brand. When you have a Cat and guys like the Bass Cat team and the guys at H2O, there just isnt a whole lot to worry about Thanks again! Now if I could just figure out how to put more fish in the livewell………….
