First I have motorguide digital 109 36v trolling motor motor. When I first bought trolling motor, there were 4 wires running to trolling motor and the motor seemed to have a lot of power, something happened and had dealer work on trolling motor and he changed the wiring now there is only 2 wires running to the batterys and the trolling motor now seems to have less power.Can anyone tell me why that would be. Checked voltage and has 38 volts at motor, does the 4 wires give it more amperage vs. the 2 wires with jumpers? Second both my fuel gauges on my 99 p111 quit working one at a time, the buble gauge reads correctly but the digital dash doesnt any help? Best boat I have ever owned!! Thanks basscat.

Go back to the four wire system on your year model. The dealer did not understand the system and set it up in the newer style. The older style required four wires and one jumper. We suspect you are only using 24 volts. BCB

how does the 4 wire trolling motor setup work? Any ideas about the fuel gauge? Thanks

The gauge is likely the bubble, so swap the two bubble out. If that doesnt create the same results on the opposite tank, then the issue could be the sender or wiring supplying the dash. Check the grounds also. We prefer to have a schematic and a one on one for the trolling wiring. Too much at risk there for a quickie lesson. BCB

so should I call basscat about motor? Where are the grounds? are the grounds at the rear of the engine compartment on the driver side?. The bubble on the gauges work fine it is the reading on the digital dash that quit. They quit working one at a time on the dash. Thanks for your help. Also note that on the digital dash the barometer and the other ones on that gauge select by themselves if there is any moisture in the air or it is raining
