Slung a Blade, was it OK to run it back to ramp???

Slung a tip on my Fury 4 today,2-3″ of the tip. Ran back to ramp about 3-4 miles,kept it slow,,around 3500 rpms. 2016 ProXS 250. Will the lower unit survive this??

Its hard on the prop shaft bearings, but it is probably OK.

I keep a spare prop for this very issue. I hate to think of leaving the boat (especially in the winter) but I like to over prepare for things like this or even if someone else needs it while Im out.

It probably will survive that, though definitely be sure they note the issue. Also change your gear lube just because.

Call your insurance co. to note the ” event ” . — Not probable , but always possible that you hit something in the water . — CYA . — Hoss .

Mercury had an issue with props. Mine did the same very thing. Didnt hit anything. If you see a dark spot in the metal where it ripped, it can be covered and replaced by Mercury. They supposedly got a bad batch of props from bad metal. Mine was replaced with no issue
