Stress Cracks?

Im going look a 2008 Cougar Wednesday I was showing a buddy pictures of it and he noticed a picture of a crack I did not see. I always read on here and on other forums and have never really read anything on BassCats with stress cracks. Should I be worried? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not 100% on where that is kind of looks like its on the passenger side were the passenger rods go.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah it appears to be on the passenger side around the handrail area. I doubt there is much to worry with. No telling how that area was stressed to cause the crack. If everything else is good and the price is good, then I wouldnt hesitate on the purchase.

There is a huge difference in stress cracks and impact cracks. My 99 Classic has not a sign of stress cracks around the splash well. It has multiple impact cracks on the sides from letting the wind blow me sideways into trees and boat docks. My definition of stress cracks are the kind you see on many boats around the transom in the corners of the splash well.

If a 1999 Pantera Classic has stress fractures from wind blowing it into things, then it took quite a licking because that model is pure Vinyl Ester resin and the best available through today.

I just noticed that i have the exact same looking crack in the same exact place on my 2014 Cougar FTD..should i be concerned about it? I know for sure that i have not had a impact in that area or any area for that matter..

I will also add that i have went over the boat with a fine toothed comb and this is the only gelcoat crack that i found..
