08 Pantera II setup and numbers

08 P II with me(250lbs),, thirteen rods and reels, 11 boxes, 100lbs of soft plastics, 101 Minkota maxxum on the front, four batteries, tank half full, 7 gallons in the saddle tank, Det. hydraulic plate, 08 Merc Opti 200, 26 tempest plus prop, 73 degrees, light wind, oh and the livewell empty. 74.5 mph gps, at 5800rpm by the tach but its incorrect.Just got the prop 1st run. Been running a 26 trophy that gets in the limiter at 701/2 mph. 25 tempest runs 72mph.I was very impressed wish I had a 27 to try. I think the 26 tempest is gonna be the best to run all the time though.

Very good numbers! A 27 Tempest may give you a bit more on top, but will be a bit less on the bottom. Thats a borderline prop for your boat, so be careful before you sink some money on on a prop that may be too big. You can also swap out that Minn Kota for a MotorGuide and gain some too!

Per Ivan Williams the Motor Guide TM its much lighter then the MinnKota TM which nets about a 1.5 mph speed difference at WOT. GC, That is a great setup with your posted numbers. That is an accurate number on some setups, though some defy the weights being an issue.

Thanks Phil & Tom I have a 24 volt MG that has been maxed out that I could put on it that would get rid of a battery also. But I really like the MK. I could get a lot of soft plastics out of the boat and move a lot of tackle to the back to help. Phil Ill see if I can borrow a 27 to try before I buy one. I think I can turn one though. The hole shot with the 26 is great. If I like it Ill buy one and have it worked for the occasional race. I may holler at you so you can hook me up with a good prop guy.

I just got a 27 a45 tempest to try will let you know numbers this weekend.74 and some change seems to be the wall on my p2

Please do dragandfly wish I could find one to try. See a lot of other brand boats around here most cant push a 27. Even the ones with big motors.
