LED Lights conversion.

Guys, I have the standard lights and I am thinking of changing them out for LED Lights. Are the LEDs quite a bit brighter, and to people who have changed them out, have you also replaced the clearance light as well. I dont think this will be a hard task as I have played with the exisiting lights and think they unplug and just pop out, but not sure about the clearance lights. Is it worth the $. Thanks all. -Lee

The lights are quite a bit brighter and do look sharp. It is fairly easy to do. One good advantage water wont cause them to burn out if you dunk your trailer without pulling the trailer plug. They last longer and vibration wont cause failure. BCB carries them in stock. I dont know if they have the LED light bar that goes across the back. I had to buy the light bar from a trailer supply. The bar was the same length as the one that came with the trailer and the mounting holes mounted perfect. I definitely think there worth it. Martin

My trailer has them and I think they are a very nice upgrade. All my bassclub fishing buddies loved them last week when they were giving my new cat a look over. Yes, they are bright. Just may help some, when you have one of those tailgaters or cell phone talkers/texters behind you.

I replaced all the lights on my 1992 Sabres trailer with LEDs and it really sets it off. Im not a wiring genius and it wasnt too hard for me. I did have to do a little bit of drilling because they did not fit the exact holes but nothing shows. They are much brighter and I absolutely think it was worth the money. The drilling was on the mounting of the clearance lights, in case there is any question. How much wiring is involved w/ a 07 classic with tandem trailer? I may have just gotten thrown off my game!

If I can do it, you can do it! Two years ago I converted most of the incandescent lights on my 01 P-III trailer to LEDs The oval stop, turn, tail lights are a no-brainer, in fact I was able to use the original rubber grommets and wiring connectors that came with the BC trailer, saved me a buck or two per side. The amber and red clearance marker LEDs were a little more challenging, but but no major re-wiring surgery was required. Havent bothered with converting the multi-light bar in the middle of the rear of the trailer frame…..yet. You can order the LEDs from BC, or easternmarine.com offers quality (Optronics & Truk Lite)) LEDs too. Youll be happy with the results if and when you decide to make the switch! Good luck!
