ANy idea why I would be getting an error GPS not responding? everything worked well last time out now I get nothing. several year old LGC2000.Is there anything I can check to see if it is shorted out?Treat everyday like it might be the last

This is a common issue. The likeliness of a GPS dropping out is less common than a connection issue on older units. Check the Ts and make sure it is connected properly and then borrow a receiver from a friend and see if theirs works.

Crawl under your dash with a shop light and find out where your power connection is for the GPS puck, which comes off the three wired connector to your head unit.Vibration from running your boat may have loosened one of your power connections, therefore “GPS MODULE NOT REPONDING” message.

LUVTOFISH – I connected the new 3000 antenna and still get the same message – I called our local marine dealer and he said most times when going from a 2000 to a 3000 youll need to upgrade to the newest software version (I have a LMS 332C) – Said he had one last week he had to do it to – I checked my menu and I do have an older version that the current (previous one owner of my 06 Puma never upgraded), so I guess thats my next step – here is a link to the Lowrance upgrade page if you end up needing it – although my laptop is down right now, looks like Ill be borrowing someones – http://www.lowrance.com/e…roduct-Software-Updates/

I have power (11.75 Volts)at the end of the cable where the puck connects in, so I deduce that means the antena is fried. Put small dab on dielectric grease on all connections, checked all under dash connections and all are solid, have good voltage at unit and coming out of unit, also checked the end of cable with the terminater plug and had 11.75 volts here as well. Tried to find a replacement antenea from LEI and cannot seem to find one do they still make them or do you need to upgrade to a newer version?Treat everyday like it might be the last

probably will just bite the bullet and use this as an excuse to change out to color and pick up a hds5. I will have the boat 2 more years before change to a larger cat that fits teh family better, right now only my two older girls fish with me but the youngest is itching to get going as wellTreat everyday like it might be the last

Bought a 4gb SD card and my Windows Vista had compatability problems but it appeared the software downloaded OK. But my unit wouldnt see the SD card and didnt take the upgrade. So I checked the card in my wifes camera and it was and older 1GB card. So I tried the download on it and Bingo! – it took it. Now Im in business – all I have to do it remove the old antenna and mount the 3000 in its place. (I was plugging the 3000 with adapter cable into the tee under the dash, where the 2000 extension cable plugs in ).
