Wanting to purchase either a PII or PIV and wanted some opionions about minimum stoarge requirements. My garage is 206″; however I have a cut out area where the motor can sit that extends the total length to 226″. Basically, boat on trailer must fit in 206″ while motor can go back another two feet. Do you all think either or both of these boats will fit? I have read the specs over and over and it seems the two boats require the same amount of space. Hard to believe seing as the PIV is a longer boat. I currently have a sabre with swing away and it easily fits with room to spare in 206″ without requiring any of the additional 2 feet. Thanks for help as the wife will kill me if I buy one that wont fit.
We are pretty sure your good to go! Especially since your Sabre fits with room to spare. We would appreciate the comments from other owners to give you peace of mind.
So do the PII and PIV actually require the same amount of space? Id love to have a PIV but in my mind a little scared that Id be pushing it seeing as the boat is longer. Not to start a whole other topic but generally speaking, how much top speed do you give up on a PIV vs PII? I know there are a ton of variables, etc. but just your average PIV vs average PII. I can handle 3 – 5 mph but more than that may require some thought.
The measurements are accurate from our knowledge. There are two other things you can do and shorten the package, a drop back tongue pulls the pivot back under the boat and then you can do a 3″ jack plate also. Though we dont think you need the plate and the drop back is a safety net for you.
Ive never measured mine, but, my PIV runs 68-70 2 guys, tournament loaded, 43 gallons of gas at sea level and 66-67 at 2400 feet above sea level with a 200HO. If you fish big water the PIV is the 19 footer to have. Mike
Brought the new to me Pantera II home today and it fit with more than a foot to spare! FYI it has Yahmaha HPDI and 6″ jack plate. Thanks for the peace of mind before purchase.
