The ratchet strap covers were introduced about two or three years ago, and, if installed and snugged up tight are designed for travel. However, keep in mind that there were three different materials available. Of the three, only the Sunbrella Supreme is unlikely to mar the gel coat finish. The other two materials may rub the gel finish when travelling.
