After looking at several boats on here I must say that Blue/Black is fast becoming one of my favorite BCB colors. Anyone know how this would look matched up with Malibu Blue? I dont know if they match or not but I have never seen one in person or in a pic with these two color combos. Just putting some ideas together becuase I may finally get to purchase a new boat next year. It may be the last one I get and I want to get it with no regrets.Any pics would be appreciated-Jason

Thanks Brannon. I have thought about that and I think you may be the color Guru on here. I want something Bad A** looking and I want to get something unique and not readily seen. I always thought my yellow/malibu red/red Cat was unique and I have yet to see another like it ever. Phil is the only other person that I have ever seen that can put together a yellow boat that is beautiful. I want to color one so that everyone twists their neck out of joint to get a second look.-Jason
Ive been playing with Remington Steel as a Light color, Malibu blue as a contrast, and blue black as the pins, or Gunsmoke, or silver fox are colors rarely used…..Flyswatter (tom moore) and I designed his Pantera 4 to be Super Unique, yet Wet your Pants Killer…..Call and we will go nuttso…..BrannonYour Signature …
We prefer more moderate colors, especially since youa re going to keep it for years. The Malibu Blue shows more scratches and is hard to keep clean. The Malibu Silver is allright and Starlight Blue is good. If you can stay to greys and mid tones you will have a better looking rig in years with less scratches showing. BCB
Mike Lott is a great source for color combos as well. He saved me with a couple decisions in the past for sure…..
Colors are a very Personal thing…..I never tell people to build a boat for resale, unless they are a new boat yearly customer……Now I have had people build a Ugly combo, but all I do is simply lay the colors out RIGHT and they always fall in love…..Dark Colors seem to very well loved,in Texas white seems to be king, up north most guys will NOT buy a white boat, they all want sparkles…..I think that any of the malibu colors are gonna be some work and scratchy more so than silver or remington steel, but thats kind of obvious, anyone thats had a white or silver car then a black one knows that…..SO you know bud ALL of the Malibu colors are Black Gel with Blue,Teal,Red,or Purple metal flake evenly and slightly added over the black,,,,,its quite striking, another idea if you want a Lite boat, try a Remington steel cap and hull, malibu blue cap and hull insert with OUR Blue/Black pins and a Black Boot (bottom), try Blue/Gray carpet, Porcelain seats with Dark Blue (matches blue black) and Black trim and accents……The blue grey carpet is exactly that, with a remington steel cap which is a silver with a Tint of Blue to it, its Very Unique,Very Bright like BCBs silver, but will look Sick with the bright blue accents and imagine your dash in Malibu Blue with Blue Bezels around your Black BRP Gauge bezels and white faces, it costs only $100 to flip the colors of the dash, it really looks Killer and once again different, id do a “Match” trailer, with maybe a black trailer frame with silver and bright blue pins, or a silver frame with black and blue pins with malibu blue fenders to match your lightning bolts and dash, Id do that it would really be a statement, if you go with the Etec, you can have a guy like Iguana Graffix on Bassboatcentral.com, take the red/white graphics off, have them matched in Bright blue, and silver decals, it would put it over the top…..These are the COLOR ideas we can discuss over the phone or email…..Brannon Email-worner_brannon@yahoo.com or # above…..Your Signature …
I think alot of the guys up North(Great lakes region) like the sparkles and try to stay away from white is becuase white or solid colored hulls seem to show stress cracks better…..We do get a few of them no matter how careful we are….I agree with Bass Cat on the Greys and Silver….My Jag has a Metallic Silver hull is a 97 and it still looks great…Even though there are a few stress cracks on the bow where I made the rookie mistake of parking my boat too deep on a steep ramp and smacked the front roller…(I thought I was going to get sick, the hull was perfect until I made that bonehead move)Last edited by brnzbaklvr on October 4th, 2009, 8:39 am, edited 2 times in total.
I think us Northern guys try to avoid the white colors since we see snow three or four months out of the year!
I appreciate all of the responses. The Blue/Black and Malibu Blue is just a thought by me. Being from Texas I also am partial to a primarily white boat. The Malibu red on my last Cat looked brand new when I sold it. I never saw a scratch on it but that was me and the previous owners meticulous care of this boat. I have other ideas in mind also for colors as I also think Charcoal and Coral look cool. Im not worried about resale becasue I will have the boat for many years. I am gonna call you one day this week Brannon and tell you my thoughts on a few color combos that I have in mind. I really do appreciate all of the advice. I cant afford a $40,000+ mistake so much thought will be put in this.
