Either one is going to be great. My 05 Puma is by far the best boat Ive ever owned. Loaded equally is there any difference in the draft or height difference from nose to top of water with these two? Im sure its not much but just trying to decide. Thanks, David

It is really a decision you will have to make. The new hull for 2008 is under each model. The differences are if you fish mostly team events, you will probably prefer the Puma. If you fish Pro Am draws with a non boater, then you may prefer the Cougar FTD. Older folks, from 50 up, will go towards the Puma, while the more aggressive younger ones will go to the Cougar FTD. The ride will go Puma, and about one MPH of speed will go to the Cougar FTD. It is just up to you! BCB

OLD folks like me would look very hard at the Cougar! I have a Puma now but like the layout on the Cougar or at least from what I see in the pictures. I figure by the time I am ready for next boat there will probably be something even better!

Puma seems to come out of the hole a little faster and the FTD seems to stand up and then go, kind of like the “old” school BCB. I would attibute that to the fuel being so far back. The rear storage is a little smaller but add the storage under the seat and it is more. The front compartments are bigger with the net scabbard missing. If you use the net scabbard you might miss it a bit, I do some but not enough to worry to much about or make it a big decision maker. It is also nice to have the cooler in between the seats so you can get into it while at the seats. The FTD has a nose high attitude more so while on plane too. That is about all I can add besides what BCB stated. It really does come down to which deck layout you prefer. All I fish is team stuff and most of my partners either have a big bag that sits in the floor anyway or they remove the stuff and put it in the rear storage and under the seat.
