I have got to share a story about the last couple of weeks. The first week in September I drove 2000 miles each way to purchase a 2010 Puma FTD that I found online here at this great site. I knew right away I had to have this boat. It is replacing a Pantera Classic that I won in a TOC back in the fall of 1998. First off I need to pass on a thanks to Basscat for this site and the boats for sale forum that allowed me to find my boat that was 2000 miles away! Next I need to thank Mike Lucas who made the purchase of my new boat very easy and worth the drive. The boat was in perfect condition and everything was as advertised. I would not hesitate to recommend one of his boats in the future. He is a really nice person and is very easy to deal with. Now on to the boat. Wow! What a machine! Thanks to Basscat for creating the best boat I have ever driven! Six days after getting home with my new boat I had the pleasure to fish in a TOC on the Columbia River where first place was a boat/motor package from a competitor. The first day of the tournament we got to test the boat out by passing approximately 12 boats on the way to our first spot! Several miles of that boat ride was in 4 waves that this boat handled very well! At the end of the first day of the tournament we found ourselves in first place! Going into the final day I knew we were in trouble when our first spot did not deliver and we noticed that the current was not flowing as strong as the first day. We had to go searching for new fish and dropped to 4th place for the tournament. We did not end up with the new boat prize, but it was the most fun I have had since I won the first boat 12 years ago. The boat was fast, handled very well, and got alot of looks by the other competitors. I have no doubt some of them were talking about “did you see that Basscat this morning? He blew by me like I was standing still!” What a rush and what a last two weeks. THANKS BASSCAT!Pround owner of 2010 Basscat Puma FTD
Wonderful story but…..Where are the pictures????Ed”Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by an unscrupulous main- stream media which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”
Just what we need, another Puma on the river with some get up and go. Congratulations on the purchase.
We need to do a BassCat day on the Columbia! My PIV might not keep up, but it wont be for lack of trying, I fished a bunch over there last year, but havent come over the hill yet in 2010. Mike
Im in for a Basscat on the river day! I am already looking for excuses to take the boat out and go fishing again. Next month I am off to Clear Lake for another TOC and we will see what conditions that lake decides to throw at us. I will get some pictures up as soon as I figure out how to upload them to this site.
Where you in the Silver puma? I was in the White with black striped Puma FTD with the Yam SHO the first day.lower unit took some water the first day of the tourn, on the way back to weigh in, and it kinda stopped turning the propeller.Got DQed for being 3 min late, had to go the last 1/4 mile via the troller.Let me know if you ever wanna meet up on the river I am based in the Tri Cities. You too Mike. October is my favorite month of the year on the river, 20 lbs is an average day at that time.
and i am only three hours from tri cities make sure and let me know 2006 classic 3.0 efi
Yep, silver side Puma with black bottom and black/red cap. Sucks about the lower unit, I saw that boat the first day. Its amazing how you forget when a Skeeter or Ranger goes by, but you remember when a Basscat goes by! Next year lets plan a early or late September or early October Basscat get together somewhere on the river. Meet up, swap lies, barbeque some food and catch some smallmouth!
