replacing carpet on fenders what to use?

i am replacing the carpet in my boat an wanting to take the old carpet off the fenders as well. i was wondering what was the best to replace ot with other than crpet an where i ccould find it. hoping like so rubber pads of somethign

The step pads you can replace with adhesive tread step or another product. Carpet is good though!

i live on dirt roads an the dirt just sticks to the carpet when its wet so im trying to avoid tht problem agian and go with the rubber

So are you speaking of the side padding, or the step pads. The side padding gets a lot of bumping for neoprene.

the step pads. the small triangular peice in front of the tire an the larger rectanglar peice behind the wheel. both are currently covered with carpet.

My $.02, would definately go with the tread step. I have been needing to trailer my boat alot recently due to low water conditions and the road is quite dusty/muddy and the tread cleans up nice and easy. It is also nice on top of the fenders (flat part on top) as this is where my kids step to get into boat.
