Looking at a new Cougar that has the trailer step up but no grab pole. I know you can order a bolt on grab pole from the factory but not sure about the installation on a boat that already has the trailer step up like this one. If anybody has done this and has some pics and some comments, it would be appreciated.

Believe you can order the entire pole/step add on for somewhere under $300…maybe $265-ish… And possible a bit less if all you need is pole and winch step. Call parts and give em your HIN, so they can match pole paint to your trailer. If you are doing the install yourself, be sure you have some serious drill bits. Here is mine…

From the picture it looks like a tall step from the first to the top of the winch. Can you order the pole and a third step like the trailers with the step and pole from the factory have?

Not a tall step to winch…I dont believe BCB offers this with a third step…(?)

The add on step and pole, doesnt have the third step. If you order the boat with the step and pole, the third step is put on at the factory.

I just installed the pole on my trailer. Install was easy and straight forward. The only part you have to pay attention to is the spring inside the winch when you pull the bolts out to remove the winch. You have to take the winch off to bolt the top step on. I also used a healthy dose of silicone under the base plate to the tongue as an adhesive. Seemed to firm it up quite a bit. I also siliconed the top ball onto the pole so that it could not be either A) stolen or B) vibrate loose.
