Wow, I wonder how much “R” boats owed the FLW.http://clembone.wordpress.com/
BASSFAN has a article on this as well.
This is going to be bad for all people associated with BRP. Ford is pulling the powerstroke engines because Navistar/inernational was not honoring the contracts for warranty work. Hope it is resolved though.
Or how much FLW owes R boats for keeping Irwin floating………..apparently, R brand was one of the few money makers in the Genmar group. Not as we understand it jignpig.Last edited by jignpig on August 11th, 2009, 10:24 pm, edited 1 time in total.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
If 100,000 is a big number worth quoting in this lawsuit then this isnt a big lawsuit for the second largest producer of private jets in the world. More likely posturing regarding a larger issue and an opportunity to up the ante in a larger fight. My guess is solvency of FLW is the main issue here. What say you Mr. Rick?C.O.D. Jr. III
Guys, We are not hammering Evinrude on this one. We are in more awareness of issues that potentially exist between Irwin Jacobs, Genmar and Evinrude (BRP) that any one of you could be. There are several factors to consider? The details of our awareness or potential issues between Irwin through his Ownership of Genmar, and we can not release. Though they could be impactive on the situation with FLW Outdoors. 1. Ranger is indebted to Operation Bass as a creditor in the Bankruptcy, that is listed as a record in the proceedings. Operation Bass is the previous ownership of FLW Outdoors. Or is that the present parent company. There are unanswered questions there. 2. FLW Outdoors is separate and not involved in the Genmar Bankruptcy, though the sole purpose for FLW Outdoors is to sell and promote Ranger Boats. Also surviving on sponsorship dollars in the process and promotions. 3. Is the debt of Operation Bass, Rangers obligation on the purchase of Operation Bass from Mike Whitaker? If so, then was Ranger paying for Irwins ownership of a company which is excluded as an LLC outside the Bankruptcy. Or is that debt Ranger owes to FlW Outdoors as previous sponsorship. Which obviously Irwin is not suing his own company(ies). 4. Evinrude may or may not have a Seat at the Table in the Bankruptcy proceedings, though one could suspect that the situation between Evinrude and Genmar, bled over to FLW Outdoors. So you see we are not being critical of Evinrude, though we do feel this is posturing by FLW Outdoors. And apparently there are many unanswered questions on the FLW side that may or may not come out in court proceedings. One can assume that a contract between Ranger/Genmar and BRP/Evinrude might have been dissolved without resolution with the bankruptcy action and Evinrude could have seen an obligation unfulfilled. There is way too much to this to assume that either Evinrude or FLW are at fault. Though see the potential for plenty of questions and the details may or may not be known. This one could get really sticky for someone. BCB PS: Ward stole our word, and yes this is posturing on the processes that are ongoing by both parties. One probably has an unfulfilled obligation, and the other probably has a contract that is in default. Also Ward, we do not think (they arent) the Bombardier and Bombardier Recreational Products are any longer related. The same family owns a major portion of both companies we understand, though they separated BRP for the heritage of the family of the Grandparents in the Snowmobile Business. Though they should be able to more than write the check.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on August 11th, 2009, 10:27 pm, edited 3 times in total.
Yep- BRP is privately held by a bunch of venture capitalists with some ties to the family in terms of decision making it seems. Im just hoping snowmobiles and other rotax engines sell good! Oh and if they could maybe get rid of this knock sensor thing I would appreciate that too.C.O.D. Jr. III
I retract my last statement I did not have good information on the subject.
