Afraid of what this will cost

Was out on the lake today with my 91 PII with a 200 merc that has less than 10 hours after a rebuild and was cruising around 55 or so and all of a sudden it was like some one pulled the brakes and we came to a stop motor still running but prop not spinning and oil in the water after we get the boat on the trailer I notice a dime size bubble about 6 inches in front of the prop with oil coming out. What am I going to need to fix and how much will it cost on average Thanks Bill

Sounds like the lower unit went out. This could range anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand depends on internal damage.

Depends on what u buy. First class lower unit and case is 2000 or so. Lesser will be less.C.O.D. Jr. III

Be careful when you buy . — Lots of Chinese ” knock-offs ” for cheap . — My best advice is to just buy factory parts . — Check ebay . — Sometimes there are some pretty good deals . — I found a new lower case for my Yamaha on ebay , and built it myself for about $600.00 . — Not hard to do if you have the repair manual and some mechanical ability . — Hoss
