This happened on Lake Fork, and it is old now though pretty cool still. Not to make a big deal out of this or embarrass the individual who had the experience. We let it lay for weeks. Though we put it up for you guys here on the Owners Board since a good number of you are not from or in Texas or frequent TFF.
Sorry to see such a thing, but no doubt in my mind, he was running in an area where he should have been slowed way down. Im just surprised it doesnt happen to more folks! Ive been fishing Fork since it opened and KNOW what all that timber looked like before most of it broke off just below the waters surface. I regularly see folks running through areas that were/are thick with trees. How some of them manage to get through without incident is amazing to me. Even with my knowledge of the lake, I still bump a stump now and then, but you can bet that when I do, its an idle speed encounter! C.
Thats a bad day…I dont care who you are. The drive home had to be the worst Bob
I saw this a few weeks ago and then some where I heard about boatlanes.com which “says” it marks gps lanes on Fork, Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn which you can purchase. Has anybody tried this product on these lakes and were you satisfied? I did put a hole in my boat a few years back on Fork and now I am more careful. I am NOT trying to sell this product, just wondering if anybody has tried it and their opinion. georgeGeorge
i tried to purchase the boatlanes chip on line and the website was all jacked up. i will be at fork next weekend and will try to get it when i am there. i heard nothing but good about it.
Check out that transom. Not a crack. Solid as a rock. Folks there lies the difference in build quality.

It is an excellent product but remember you still need to be careful, some of these lanes that are marked are no wider than your boat and being off just a tad could mean a bad day for you and your boat. With that being said, I fish Fork at least twice a month and still use find the boat lanes a great tool for that lake. It has all the known boat lanes marked plus a few of the little know lanes also marked.God Bless, Stephen

Makes you truely appreciate a BCB with that transom….AND also a prime reason BassCat uses a 6 bolt jackplate and not the standard 4 bolt used by most everyone else. There had to be some shock or torque to the plate/transom….amazing.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Just got back on Sunday night from a trip down there. It is easy to do if you dont watch for and know where the boat lanes are. The best thing is to purchase a downloadable file from one of the guides and download right into your gps. They are generally pretty accurate and give you a little more confidence.
That guy has a place on the lake and knows the lake pretty darn well. He hasnt had the best of luck this year and that was a 34K dollar claim. That motor was in the drink and the majority of that money was for a new two fiddy but still an expensive mistake. I felt so sorry for him as he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He was in the boat lane just to the right of the last bouy in Glade. Yall be careful out there it couldve been much worse…thankfully it was just the boat. Judd Lasiter
