Me and my partner started building these to make it more comfortable while fishing off the side of boat. We have decided to start selling them if anybody is interested they can be seen on our web site thetrollslide.webs.com . The site is under construction so please be patient. Im very interested in your thoughts.
Great idea and the workmanship looks fantastic. I would also advertise this post on walleyecentral.com, bassboatcentral.com and all of the sites you can think of. Sincerely, Brannon
Good idea if you are just going down the bank and no wind , but what if your are fishing ledges out on KY LAKE in the mouth of Jonathon Creek[10-15MPH WINDS] ,whats going to keep you from dancing and falling in the water while the boat is getting rocked up and down and your are trying to brace yourself on the pro pole[BUTT SEAT] and the trolling motor to hold you in place to keep the boat in position.
There is a tension lock on the bottom that is adjustable. You can set the amount of tension it takes to slide from side to side. It can also be adjusted down so that it wont move all.
Fantastic idea, should sell, post on a lot of boards-if I were using a foot control, probably would buy!BAYOU BANDIT
Very clever idea. And it looks as those you could color match for added “bling”. Great idea for older rigs or those without the recessed basin. Looks as though you could tap into a sizeable after market or even “dealer option”. Keep us posted on how it goes!96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
I wish you guys all the best. However, I just dont see many guys going back to a “on the deck” trolling motor pedal after fishing with a recessed pedal. I know I would not. I think price will also put it out of the demographic you seek.Good Luck!!
Who wants to have to adjust a tension bar while fishing a ledge either during pratice or while fishing a tournament in the wind . You will have to neal down and pray while you are adjusting a tension bar while your trolling motor is bouncing up and down out of the water that you dont fall out of your boat . Then, while all this is happening your boat has drifted off onto or away from your spot . Its a good idea maybe for people who just fish shallow all the time and dont like change in mother nature while on the lake ,like the wind blowing or alittle storm blowing by. Bill Dance would be a good example to use this cause the only time he ever gets up is to put a fish in the boat. I think i would have to agree with adchunts on his statement of people who are used to a recessed pedal , its going to be hard for them to go back to the on the deck. Hope it works out for ya , good luck .
I think the point is not for the boats that already have a recessed basin. There are a lot of older boats that still do not have recessed basins, or more likely it will appeal to the Carolina boys that crankbait old school, sitting while cranking. They do not need a recessed pedal basin and this will give them the ability to cover angles.Plus, look at the mounting plate for the electronics, now that is a unique idea, always having the fishfinders directly in front of you.Believe it or not, there will be people that love this idea as it fits their needs. The tension issue would be similar as to trying to adjust the roller on speed setting of a trolling motor, still gonna have to pay attention or kicking it to 100 in rough water invites an unplanned swim.Good luck on the venture!96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
once tension is set there is there no need to adjust. You can adjust in garage so that it moves with tension then go fish with it.We are posting youtube right now that shows all features and how easily it works. Will provide a link once its up.
