The only motor I have seen that will blow a 50 amp breaker is the 24v 80# minn-kota. I replaced my 50 with a 60 to stop the constant tripping when running wide open, and have actually tripped the 60 once or twice in the past year… But for a 36v motor, if you pull 50 amps, something is wrong. Thats the benefit of running 36v. Less current needed, which results in less parasitic loss in the cables from battery to T.M.watts = volts * amps. 36 * 50 =1800. 1 HP is 746 watts if memory is right. That would be a heck of a big T.M. 2.5HP?
