Miss at high rpm on 05 200hp Hpdi

Just curious if any of the Yamaha owners have had this problem…last two times out when running wide open and going 65 mph plus the seams to be a miss or slight hesitation for a split second only done a couple of times and going to get it to mechanic this week. Starts and idles great and all rpms seems to be running smooth except over 5800 rpm..love my p classic and Yamaha hope its a simple fix.

I always start with the basics. Plugs. Filters. And go from there.These things are not nearly as forgiving as our cars/trucks. They do NOT like dirty/fouled plugs, they do like clean fuel with no water, and no blockages that reduce fuel supply below acceptable limits…2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

Start with spark plugs. The HPDI I had would do exactly what your talking about every 6 months or so. Change plugs, fixed it every time. HPDIs eat spark plugs do to all the oil they burn. Could be filters but most likely plugs. When my filters needed changed, it would start having a miss while getting on pad. Good luck

Thanks for the input definitely putting plugs in it soon, chk out filters,do impeller and low end lube before the next tournament in two weeks
