recirc problem with the cat???

I am planning on checkin it out tonight, I forgot to mention that it came a very hard rain before this happened, could it have got wet?? i can reach under the dash where the buton is & it is very hot when it starts “buzzing”, it just sounded like the pump started “laboring” then the buzzing sound at the button came shortly after

well, i let the boat set out in the sun today & dry out, put fan under dash & guess what the pump works now????? maybe it was water, the touch panel has already been replaced once about a year ago, it appears that water could possibly get in on the top of the panel, so i will silicone it.

there is a small gap at the top where the panel meets the fiberglass with no silicone, I can see a hint of silicone at the ends but can see where water could pass between the panel & dash at the top of the panel. If it does indeed turn out to be a relay, can it be replaced ??? I noticed today while listening to my pump it still sounds a little ruff, & changes tune a little. So Im thinking Im in for a relay or a pump when this is all over ????? Thanks for the input !!!! Your help is greatly appreciated

It may possibly be your pump is overheating when circulating water, which will cause it to work harder. When just running dry, less resistance will let it run, but under a load it will lock up. It sounds like a pump problem, especially when you consider it has not been replaced since new, and it changes speed as you describe. Best to try simple solutions first, then go further. Dont ask how I know.
