So I am going over everything on my recently purchased used Bass Cat and I notice there is a small tank in the rear battery and gas compartment with what looks like a black filter (round cylinder) mounted on top that says High Performance _______________(cant read the last word). It has small hoses on it. What goes in that tank? You can unscrew the lid and it is obvious something is to be pured into that tank. Tank looks only about the size of a brake fluid tank on a car.Second question is on a 4 bank charger. I plugged it in and left it overnight. It has 3 of the indicators with red lights and the 4th is blinking red/green. When fully charged should they be all green? Do these chargers have auto-shut off so I can just leave it plugged in between outings? Thanks in advance! http://www.vrbo.com/297770
Maybe it holds Ring Free? Come on…. some one has to have this also.http://www.vrbo.com/297770
What brand engine do you have and also what brand charger? For the black cylinder it could be a fuel filter and for the charger problem it sounds like you may have a bad connection to the battery or a bad/dead battery. The RED and GREEN lights alternately flash when AC power is plugged in•This a built in feature that indicates that either the charging leads to a battery are loose, not connected or connected backwards. This also can indicate a bad cell on the battery for that specific bank if the light flashing occurs after a long period (24 hours) of charging.Last edited by sdfd504 on September 5th, 2010, 9:18 pm, edited 3 times in total.
2008 250 Yamaha 250 HPDINot sure on the Battery Charger Brand. I will take a picture of both items in question and post. The trolling motor still runs, so I guess the 4 battery system bypasses a dead batttery?http://www.vrbo.com/297770
I am not a Yamaha expert by any means but I believe they all have a second fuel filter mounted in the back compartment. I would bet that is what you are looking at since it has a filter in it.Also the trolling motor will still work but you need to find out if the connections are just loose or if the battery is bad.

Just wanting to make certain I dont have an empty tank which is supposed to hold something important to the motor. http://www.vrbo.com/297770
The charger probably has a fuse out or similar issue. Check batteries and reverse leads to verify operation, etc. The canister is the fuel filter on Yamaha engines.

Again, Ill post a pic this evening onceI make a run to the marina. http://www.vrbo.com/297770
Heres a pic of the thing some think is a fuel filter. The tank seen at the base has a clear but off color liquid in it. Last edited by RandyTaylor on September 6th, 2010, 12:11 am, edited 1 time in total.http://www.vrbo.com/297770
Here is the deep cycle battery located on the start battery side. Note that the black cable is connected to the red terminal and vice-versa. Is that correct. The next photo is of the other side with the other two deep cycle batteries.http://www.vrbo.com/297770
