I have a chance to purchase 194 (Eyra) boat is fully loaded it includes 1995, 175 HP Mercury motor (pass compression test with flying colors), 82lb thrust Motor Guide digital trolling motor, Garmin GPS/fishfinder, hot foot, all lights, horn, live wells in good working order. Test drove boat, pulled back off throttle at 70 MPH (still had room for more speed). Interior and exterior in very good shape (little compound and wax will bring it back to factor finish). Asking price is $9K. Please advise if this is good price. Are there other things I should consider before pursuing purchase? Thanks,
Not much… Sounds like you covered the bases and there are not many Erya models in the market. BCB
Thats a pretty good ballpark figure……….mine is a 96 Eyra/95 Mariner 175 EFI. It is QUICK!!96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
When purchasing a used boat/motor it is important to consider not only the sales price, but also how much additional you will have to spend to get it like you want it. Changing or repairing things like electronics, trolling motor, batteries, charger, prop, tires, wheel bearings, brakes, cover, seats, carpeting, etc, can easily run into the thousands of dollars; not to mention down time that could better be spent on the lake. A good rule of thumb is to make your best estimate of how much you think you will spend after the purchase and then double it. There are always unexpected expenses in even the best kept rigs. It sounds like the boat you are considering is in great shape; just be objective and realistic in evaluating what you are going to want to do it after you get it.
Sounds like a good price on a GREAT boat, I have a 94 Eyra that I love. I had thought about trading for a newer model but I like the boat so much I decided to upgrade the Eyra instead. Ive already ordered new style bucket seats and later Ill have new carpet put in. I dont think youll be disappointed at all.

Some of this is cosmetic and some are essential. The Eyra that I bought I upgraded the batteries to Optimas, Minn Kota on board charger, Minn Kota Maxxum 80 trolling motor and new style custom made 07 seats by BassCat, swing away tongue (retro fit), hydraulic jackplate, Tempest plus prop, plus extra things BCB went out of the way to help me with. Did I need to do this? No, just the batteries and charger and trailer tongue. But if you keep a level head, knowing what you actually need and know that you may never recover what you invest, you can still do quite well with a boat of this age. This is the boat I wanted and achieved almost all of my goals for this boat, except getting to 72+ mph by gps……..still working on that.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
We left the value price answer open. From experience that is a good issue on the upgrades. You will end up spending $1500 on goods for upgrades and service for most boats in this range. BCB
Yep, this will be a “starter” boat for my son in about 4 yrs………..96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
