My friend, Having used one for two years, I promise you it is the most functional item on a boat trailer, except for tires. It makes launching and retrieving so much safer and easier when fishing alone. My tournament partner, Gary Harlan, has told me more than once that I am the clumsiest white boy he has ever seen, so you know how much that step and pole have done to keep my backside dry.
