There have been a whole bunch of questions floating around on adding a 4th battery vs running a 36 volt trolling motor with 3 batteries. I have been running 3 batteries on the 36v T/M setup but adding talons I figure it was time to go with 4 batteries. Below is what I did to shoe horn the 4th battery in, not saying its ideal but it appears to work for me. Boat is a Pantera IV with two saddle tanks.First I pulled the oil tank and support out.Took the wires off the starting battery and zip tied them together so I wouldnt have to remember what wires went to where. After measuring I realized that I could turn my starting battery 90 degrees and barely have enough room to fit the oil tank in between, Next step was cleaning and silicone the old holes from the oil tank mount and the starting battery tray. Clean then used silicone to prior to screwing down new battery trays.Took the extra battery bracket from the new battery mount and installed it backwards on my existing T/M battery mount. to provide support for oil tank.Took a piece of scrap diamond plate and bent it in my vise so the short leg of the “L” shape fit in the new battery tray and rested on the flipped bracket from above. The oil tank is an extermely tight fit, and the battery holds the diamond plate tight, so I didnt see a need to screw it down.Put the oil tank in and checked the fit. Seemed good.Put the 4th battery in and secured down. Hooked the wiring up and everything is good to go. Still need to get a strap figured out for the oil tank. Thinking a big zip tie to the seat mount should be fine. Yes my wiring looks goofey, its because I have a troll bridge installed to charge my T/M batters while I run. Hope it helps anyone wanting to add a 4th battery and unsure how. It took maybe 3 hours working slow.
