I have a 95 Pantera 2 with a 200hp Yamaha ProV. I think i have lost some speed since i first bought the boat 3 years ago. I could have swore i was hitting low 60s, and now i am struggling to hit mid 50s. What are some things i can change to get more top end speed? Also how do you think i lost that much speed in 3 years? And lastly what is the maximum potential with this boat and set-up. I am currently running a 3blade 23 pitch prop and i do have a manual jackplate..

A 200 Pro Vee was a 70+ potential on top end. You need to weigh the rig and see what the package weighs. Take a deduction for gear, batts, engine, troller, trailer and etc. Then you can see what it weighs in at. If it is within specs, then you start looking at the engine which is usually the issue. BCB

I can get 61 gps with a 150 EFI (97 PII). I could probably get a little more with some tweeking.My prop is even buggered up. Shortly after I got it back from Steves Custom I hit a stump. I hammered it back…Pro V is a good motor. Is it a carb setup?

95 PII with a 150 Pro V. 64-66 mph depending on load. Carbs are seldom a problem on the Pro V but mine is temperamental when it comes to plugs. To keep it running smooth and fast I found I need to change plugs once a year. I can see a big difference with a change of plugs.

I took the boat out today. it ran pretty steady @ 50mph , 4700 rpm does that sound about right?

No, that is weak, though we would strongly suggest a check of the engine and compression. They (another moderator) once asked you to weigh the entire rig on a truck scale, have you done that yet? Then we would start working on other things.

yes i got 4765 this weekend. How many RPMs should i be getting?
