I have a 03 Cougar single console with 225 Opitmax. I need to buy another prop misplaced a trophy somewhere, somehow…i currently am running a 25p trophy, by myself, lots of equipment 1/2 tank of fuel, water in livewell 69-72 i can hit the rev limiter someday or if i over trim. Some days it runs low 70s some days it wont bust 70. Add a partner and it 68-70. Jack plate hasn been moved since i got the boat from sherm in 2004.Any chance of squezzing any more MPH out of her with a Fury? if so which size and what could i expect. Since i needed another prop i thought about trying one of these.Thanks in advance

hard to say if you will pick up appreciable speed or not by running the Fury. The Fury is a nice prop and youll get other potential benefits other than top end speed. Though youll pay for it. A 25 Fury is what I would try, but if you can find one to try out then that would be a big help for you also. Good luck!

i would try a 25 or 26 fury on it. Not sure how much youy will pick up with it but i have had good luck with them.

The 25p Fury should perform better all around, and you will notice the load carrying capability and hole shot improvement.The engine will “breathe” and sound better with the Fury, imho. This is my current set up and i love it.

I have a 04 cougar 225 opti. I run a 27p Trophy 90% of the time. Half tanks and me and run 74 at 5500. Gets out of the hole OK, a little slow with live wells full.If I have somebody with me and heavy, I run a 25 power tech. Cant get the speed and hit the limiter to quick when lighter.I think the 26 fury would be the best if I had to have one prop. I really like the 27 because I can run 63-65 at 5000.Milton

I went with the 26 Fury on my 03 Cougar FTD and the improvement was very noticeable (Opti 225). I was bumping the rev limited with my old 26 Trophy so I switched to the Fury and got another 2 mph on the top and better lift. Cougar runs like a scalded cat now! Even the other guys in my club noticed the improvement, especially when I passed them. Prop seems to work well regardless of water temps and elevation. Im usually fishing lakes between sea level and 1,000 ft above sea level. Runs good in 40 degree water and in 70 degree water too. I used to swap props for summer and winter. No more. Great prop right out of the box!
