Im looking at a 2008 bass cat with a Yamaha HPDI 150.Ive noticed some HPDIs as a “Series 2” type. (the one Im looking at is not)Whats the difference. Any concerns?

No concerns. There is no Series 2 150/175 HPDIs. The series 2 was for the 200,225,250 HPDIs. That 150 HPDI is very reliable and about as bullet proof as you can get.

I have a 150 HPDI on my boat and it has been very reliable and great on gas. I dont believe the 150 or 175 motors were offered in a Series II.

I had a 175 HPDI, great motor. The high pressure filters can get pricey so Id ask about last time it was serviced.

Ive got a 2012 175HPDI and I am beyond impress with the motor. Same exact block as the 150HPDI just a few more ponies and slightly different LU. You will not be disappointed with this motor. IMO the 150 and 175 HPDI are vastly underrated performers. Good luck!
