motor height

What do you look for when the motor is too high? I have moved my moter up and my hole shot has improved and top end is still good. It actually drives a little better. Was hoping to even better my hole shot by raising a little more but wanted to ask what to look or feel for to know I have raised it to much.

Drop it and see how performance changes. Check steering cylinder and fitting clearance when you drop it. You may need a trim limit switch.

how much should i drop it…..this prop has a lot of lift

From your description we would drop it between a quarter to a half inch.

Steering torque, and low water pressure are the main things you want to pay attention to.

As said above, steering torque youll notice first. Then youll notice the top end speed start tailing off.
