I have made the decision, going with a Bass Cat! Broke it down to a Sabre FTD or a Pantera Classic. I have seen some posts referencing the Pantera Classic “Daytripper Package”- what does this entail! Thanks and looking foward to joining the family soon!
The BCB Day Tripper package entails Less Equipment, I didnt know that package was available on the Pantera Classic. I know on the Sabre its a 12 volt trolling motor, I think 1 locator and Specific equipment to get the price down for the Weekend warrior fisherman. The Sabre FTD is a Advantage packaged boat, better equipment and Ill tell you what, its easily the Sweetest 18 out there, Ive sold 3 of them and the guys love them, with a 150 HO guys are getting high 60s and 1 guy got 70. It depends on your preference, 18ft long with a Huge front deck thats nice and wide, a beam forward design, just like the Pantera 2. Or a Classical design with a narrower bow, the Classic and Sabre Reg are similar, with the narrower and classic deck design. I think once you add your equipment with your local dealer, and have them colored similar (the advantage is full metal flake +600 or so on the Classic and Sabre),use the same motors, and the price difference will be small. Id go Sabre FTD or Pantera 2, but thats me. If your not worried about all out speed and looking for a more economical package then a Sabre 115 combo (115 HO is the king) or Pantera Classic with 150Opti or Etec, then you will get a great running package for less $$$$ Let us know your thoughts and the folks will love to help and add advice. The Day Tripper is only available in the Sabre. Other models are listed in the on line brochure as Vision or Vision Tour models. The equipment is listed in the break down of the models. Our suggestion is line item the options you want and verify which equipment package fits your needs. The Sabre FTD comes in Advantage or upgraded in the Advantage Elite packages and Pantera II is an Advantage Elite model. Specific questions are best after you decide a direction you figure out on equipment, models and engine. Check the brochure that opens through the home page (pretty cool too) then let us know how we can help. Thank you for considering a BCB model!
Dodgeman–congrats on going with BCB. Both are beautiful boats. Spend a little extra and let Brannon advise you on how to pimp your ride. Hes talked me into sub woofers, Im just not sure where to put the amp! If your not careful hell talk you into an HO as well. Ha ha. Welcome to the family bro.
Welcome to the Family. No matter which rig you decide on…you will not be disappointed.
Dodgeman, you made the right decision. Figure out what works best for you and go get it. Dont be afraid to ask quesitons on this board. The frequently asked quesitons are a good source of information, too. You can also use the “search” tool and it will sort through the thousands of responses quickly. As you have already discovered there are a million considerations when buying a boat. Be honest with yourself when considering your needs. If you need to go 75 mph, BCB can make it happen; if you need to run 100 miles one way, BCB can put enough gas tanks to make it happen; if you need multiple HD 10 inch wide sidescan graphs on the front, back and console…guess what? BCB can do it. If you want a boat to take a child fishing…yep, they can do that too!!! Post pictures when you get your new boat
Dodgeman, welcome to the board and the family!
welcome, cant wait to see the one you pick!!!Pete
Look at your options, some of the packages get you more stuff at a good price. I went with a PII Advantage Elite. Highly recommed it if you are looking for a 19.
Hello…..Saw your post. You have a PM.
