The FLW Tour event scheduled to take place on the Red River out of Shreveport/Bossier City, LA has been cancelled. Dang…..and I just know I had the Fantasy Team that was gonna do it all. I had a tournament last year that was canceled, Bass Weekend series and the FLW tournament was too. It was work but I got along with that place. I wish there was some way to control or devert the water that hits that place so hard.

SMART move by FLW ! Weekend series crew didnt respond fast enough, and some damage reported to boats pre-fishing, needlessly. Moving to Sam Rayburn was a good move though. Rusty just wanted to go back to LADs, and i dont blame him ! THAT is what makes the Red River sooooo good !

Even though its disappointing, I have to agree that is was a smart move. The amount of debris and current in the river not to mention the levees and other underwater obstructions that are not visible with the levels the way they are could certainly cause a lot of equipment damage as well as the possiblity of human injury. No fishing tournament is worth the risk of hurting someone. Im glad some people are taking that into consideration. Being from East Texas originally, I fully understand about the Red and how all the rain can make it really a mess. I get reports from my family in that area and the entire area has been saturated with rain this year once again. I am fishing this weekend on Lake Marting Alabama which is on the Tallapoosa river. It too is a muddy mess and will more than likely make for poor fishing. I prefished last week end and one bit in 10 hours.

My partner and I were to fish a tournement on Lake Martin today but common sense prevaled. It was 23 degrees this morning in Ozark and forecast winds were 20 MPH. I enjoy fishing but I dont think it would have been fun today. Maybe I am gaining some wisdom in my old age.
