Topic: should I be concerned ?

I have been going over my boat and getting her ready to go this Spring and noticed the lowest plate to transom bolt on the passenger side is lose and has a water mark . It appears to have been weeping .I had plans to remove the bolt, fill the hole w silicone and reinstall the bolt. This is tough to do by myself and will have a friend help me tomorrow night ,however, how concerned should I be about the weeping?, does this mean I have a bigger issue? Thanks in advance

Your transom is all fiberglass (heck your whole boat is) so you dont have to worry too much. Somebody from BassCat will surely see this soon and comment. I actually had a similar issue recently. My drain plug insert corroded and came out. I also saw weeping when I was down there working on it. No worry ! Obviously best approach is drop plate and reseal plate and rigging when u have a chance after season. Reseal that one for now, IMHO.Last edited by dbasketman on March 27th, 2013, 2:36 am, edited 1 time in total.

On a 2008 we would have the bolt removed and checked for water. Obviously it leaked and needs some attention including resealing.
