bow mounted DI/Si Hummingbird?

Hey yall. Just ordered a new Eyra and I have a question about using a Hummingbird 898DI/SI unit on the bow. I have been told the Side immaging is useless on a trolling motor but what about the Down Imaging? I want to be able to utilize the down imaging from the bow. Can the Di/Si ducer be mounted on a trolling motor? Or can the unit be linked to the dash 898 so that I could see the DI from the rear ducer? I currently have the order in as a 898 SI/DI in the console and a 858 on the bow but I would change it to a 898 up front if it will work. Never had a Hummingbird before but im tired of Lowrances poor service and constant shut off from voltage drop. Thanks for any help.

The DI is IMO a must have up front. I currently have a 797cSI on the front, and it is OK but I rarely use the SI on the troller as it is so hard to keep it straight enough to get a good pic. I am actually thinking of selling it next year and getting a 800/900 series with DI (saw from ICAST these are coming out soon) as a replacement so I have a bigger screen up there.

DI is a benefit from the bow, and SI is not much help in our opinion.

I would hold off buying a SI unit just for the DI, Hummbird has new DI models coming out for 2012.
