Topic: Couple of wiring questions…..

So I got my Sonic Hub and my LSS-1…And I am getting ready to install them and want to keep them on the two accessory switches (on one the keypad and the one on the pumpin/out). I found the orange wire with the blue butt connector coming off the pump in/out easy enough and see an orange wire coming from the keypad but cant find the end to it or the blue connector for it…….Is it pushed back into the hole in the sidewall? Should it becoming off another (sorry for lack of a better term) one of those white jumbo connectors like the first one I found? What am I looking for here? Also do I need to run another power wire from the console back for positive connection or can I hook into the existing Lowrance power or will that be to much of a drain?From everything I have read the orange is the accessory wires correct?Any help appreciated.Justin

Nevermind found the second orange wire with the butt connector behind the electrial tape….So now the question of power……Can I just splice into the HDS power? or the cig. lighter or what? If I do split into the cig. lighter do I need to disconnect it to do it or is it safe to leave connected? Also are these fuse protected or do I need to set an inline fuse? Sorry for all the questions would rather not pay the $100 hr. service to have somone hook this stuff up if I can at all avoid it.

BCB Hard Wires all electronics though the companies suggest a fuse in line. We do not fuse them in line and we have had no issues in using this method. The in line breaker is at the batteries and there is an a separate press button breaker on the cigarette lighter which is under the console. Though later boats do not have this panel under the console. BCB Admin.
