Great post.So the green pumpkin imitates a crawfish that may have algae growing on it? I guess bass like those because they get a full meal of meat and vegetables.Seriously, I read once that crawfish can be different colors even within the same species. They change colors to match their surroundings.

i have seen crawfish that were a green color without algae growing on it, try flipping over rocks and look at the colors you find, most of us did this as kids

Crawdads come in all colors here in North Arkansas. We have dark green ones that look almost blue, Orange ones we call Black Jacks, Green ones that the green pumpkin mimics and many more colors. They are not algae covered in the rock lakes, though in those mud infested waters they often are.

if any of yall ever make it to Inks Lake state park here in Texas you realy need to look in their fish tank, you will think you are crazy at first, they have a black crawfish with blue tinting to it. it is awesome. the crawfish is in the little tank in the office that you pay the entrance fee at. i sure would like to know what kind of crawfish it is exactly. and by the way i did drag an Oldham football head jig in black and blue that day after seeing the crawfish. and it worked
