advice needed for mounting cull tag holder

I want to put a cull tag holder inside the lid of my livewll so they are there when I need them. I have tried to do this a number of times, once with the double stick tape that came on the holder, and once with some epoxy and neither has worked. My livewell has the standard “foam” insulation on the inside of the livewell lid. What is the best way to “stick” something to that soft lining of insulation on the inside of the livewell lid. I just hang mine on the arreator pipe.

I drilled thru the lid, used small stainless screws and lock nuts. Put a little dab of marine silicone on foam side where screw came thru and bolted it down. Use small head screws and work them thru carpet and fluff carpet little around screw. Cant even find the screw heads now.

Thanks for any advice!Take insulation off inside of lid and mount an aluminum or cutting board material mounting plate with epoxy like the rest of the lockers have on them then re-apply insulation to inside lid to cover. Should be able to screw into mounting block from inside to mount tag holder. Or just trace the outline of your cull tag hanger on the insulation and remove just that section to be able to epoxy hanger directly to lid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I took some pipe thread tape and wrapped it around the threads on the latch housing building it up to about 1/8″-1/4″. Then I made a little loop with a zip tie and zip tied that to the latch housing. The thick layer of pipe thread tape lets it grip the latch housing by compression. In my Cougar there were holes in the livewell separator. I just hung the cull tags by the hooks in those holes. No need to add or install anything.2017 Eyra / 250 Merc Pro XS
